Sylacauga, Alabama, July 25, 2017 - Over 1000 of track and field athletes attended the National  AAU Club Championship in Orlando Florida on July 10-15, 2017. Morgan O'Neal a rising senior at Sylacauga High School finished 2nd in the 400 hurdles during the AAU Club Championship. While in Orlando, Morgan also participated in the 400 meter dash, but did not run in finals due to 400 hurdle finals being only an hour apart. Morgan is currently ranked 10th in the nation in 400 hurdles. O'neal stated, “I was overwhelmed with excitement when I saw my time on the clock. In my head I was jumping with joy, but in reality I was feeling the pain of running a 400. Running under 60 seconds was my goal for this summer and now the goal is to go even faster!”

Morgan will continue to pursue her track and field career and hopes to obtain a scholarship next year to further her educational and sports career.
